A simul game in the outback land

This game is between me and an Australian International Master of chess in a simultaneous exhibition where there was the brilliant player taking on 20 opponents at once. All the opponents were regular club players. I pondered through the possibilities but still I had difficulty coming up with a name for the following game. I knew that i couldn't call it "the immortal game" or "the evergreen game" or "the game of the century" because these names have already been taken. Also "the kangaroo game" , "the vegemite game" and "the wattle game" were too Australian and i had international readers so i decided on this name and hope people will remember it. Here's the game with me as Black:

1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.ed cd 4.c4 Nf6 5.Nc3 Bf5 perhaps not a correct Caro Kann theory move. 6.Qb3 bringing out the big piece with a small advantage 6...Qd7 defending the precious b-pawn 7.Nf3 e6 8.Ne5 a handy move that gains time or tempo 8...Qc7 9.Bf4 dc 10.Bxc4 White is very strong here for sure, pieces out and ready to castle 10...Nbd7 still developing 11.Nxd7 Qxf4 forced 12.Nxf6+ gf 13.Qxb7 oh no, Bb5+ is next and if so, curtains 13...Bd6 there goes a rook 14.Qxa8+ down a piece some would resign 14...Bb8 15.g3 Qd6 16.0-0 0-0 17.Rad1 Qb4 18.Qc6 Qxb2 that was kind, thanks for something, White is far ahead and just glancing at the board 19.Ne4 Kg7 20.Nc5 Rd8 activating my pieces 21.d5 Rd6 22.Qb7 Rb6 23.Qe7?? this move can only be made in a simul! White thought - i'm easily winning here, theres no danger and then went to the next board. If he had looked 5 seconds longer he would have seen that 23.Qc8 is safe 23...Bd6 24.Qd7 Bxc5 Part A of a comeback plan, there is new hope! 25.de Bxe6 26.Bxe6 a logical exchange and win policy 26...Rxe6 27.Rd2 Qb4 28.Qd5?? way too overconfident, the typical Australian way, the best move is 28.Rc1 hanging onto the advantage 28...Rd6 amazing, i'm back in the game with winning chances! 29.a3 Qxd2 30.Qxc5 Qd4 31.Qxd4 Rxd4 and despite Black's doubled f-pawns i was able to draw the endgame.

Thanks mate! For drawing i was given a prize, a chess book by former England player Gary Lane and it was about attacking chess. He now plays for Australia, a strategic, tactical and positional decision, in fact a great move. We always welcome players from overseas, especially when they decide that they will live in Australia and admire our unique country. Though i don't have the book anymore, i lent it to someone who went to Canada and i have never seen it again What we should do in Australia is play some chess variant tournaments and play on fabulous email chess sites like brainking.com.
