Author: Gror

I'm not in the team of the organizers of this event, nor even a helper. But this thing, with so huge amount of the games ane people included, exceeds all, what I ever have seen in the world of games and I would like to bring this event nearer to you.

The Mind Sports Olympiad is already 6 years old. During yeard it gained high popularity among many of the players of the board games such as Checkers, Chess, Scrabble, but also Settlers of Cattan, Carcassone and many others. Games played every years are about 300. And, that's the point, the entry fee is zero and you can play every game you want also for free. You must only pay for tournaments, which, usually, have very interesting prizes. And the Game of the year is chosen here.

Olympiad offers also some of the high grade tournaments such as Czech Championships - In Carcassone, Settlers of Cattan, Scrabble, Checkers, ... These tournaments often have many preliminary rounds during the years and are very prestigious. Average number of the players playing Champs is 128. Some of these are also international.

But the main aspect, which this Olympiad has, is the atmosphere. You come and for instant you are surrounded with friends that you have never seen before. And you earn even more in the 10 days of the duration of the Olympiad. And the organizers are always ready to help you with everything and especially with every game rules you want to know.

And some more numbers? Last year's visitors were more than 4000, there were 94 tournaments in 34 disciplines, attendants of the tournaments were 1779. The people were from 15 countries.

Well, are you interested? If you look on the Official site, you can learn everything about it. And it's worth of your time and money.
